Register for CPF contributions (citizen/PR staff)
Register as an employer with the CPF Board and start monthly CPF contributions for every Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident staff member from their first month of employment.
Register as an employer with the CPF Board and start monthly CPF contributions for every Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident staff member from their first month of employment. Rates are age-banded β for employees aged 55 and under, the total contribution is 37% of wages (17% employer + 20% employee), effective from 1 January 2026.
Late or unpaid CPF contributions attract interest, and CPF Board can pursue recovery action, including legal proceedings, against employers who fall behind β this isn't a discretionary benefit, it's a statutory payment with the same enforcement teeth as tax.
Who this is for
Any venue employing Singapore Citizen or PR staff, from the first hire upward.
Applies to wages paid to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents β not to work pass holders, who are covered separately.
What youβll hold
- CPF employer account confirmation
- Monthly CPF contribution records
Watch out for
- Assuming CPF only matters once you have several staff β it applies from your first CPF-eligible hire, at any headcount.
- Missing the monthly contribution deadline, which triggers interest on the outstanding amount.
- Not adjusting contribution rates as staff cross age bands (e.g. turning 55, 60, 65) β rates step down by age and are easy to leave stale on payroll.
