Put up everything you're legally required to display
Before you open, put together the physical displays you're required to show at the premises: your licence summary/certificates, your halal certificate if you've been certified, your DPO's published contact details, and allergen/smoke-free signage — smoking is prohibited in food shops and hawker centres under NEA rules, so a no-smoking notice needs to be visible.
Not yet independently verified — check the source link: The full list of Singapore-mandated in-venue displays for an F&B operator wasn't independently compiled from a single primary source this pass — the items listed here (licence summary, halal certificate if applicable, DPO contact details, allergen/smoke-free signage) are corroborated individually, not as one official checklist.

Inspectors from SFA, NEA or other agencies can act on missing or incorrect displays during a routine or complaint-driven visit, and a halal certificate displayed without valid certification is itself a compliance issue in the other direction.
Who this is for
Every venue, on the day it opens.
What you’ll hold
- Licence summary on display
- Halal certificate on display (if certified)
- DPO contact details on display
- No-smoking / allergen signage
Watch out for
- Treating this as one item instead of a checklist — the licence summary, halal certificate, DPO details and smoking signage each come from a different source and get missed independently.
- Leaving an expired or superseded licence certificate up after a renewal — swap it out as soon as the new one arrives.
- Forgetting the no-smoking signage because a food shop's smoking rules are less visible in the F&B conversation than licensing — it's an NEA requirement, checked separately from your food licence.
