Grease trap CCTV inspection

A camera inspection run through your grease trap system and its connected drainage pipework, checking for structural defects, blockages and grease buildup that a visual check from ground level can’t see. This must be carried out by a PUB-registered contractor — not any general plumber.
Grease trap systems are underground or otherwise concealed for most of their length, so a structural fault or a developing blockage can go unnoticed until it causes a sewer backup or discharge. The CCTV inspection is how that gets caught early, and PUB expects it to be done by a contractor registered for the work.
We don’t yet have a vetted Singapore contractor directory — confirm PUB registration before booking, and ask your landlord or trade association for a recommendation.
Who this is for
Any venue with a kitchen and a grease trap installed.
What you’ll hold
- CCTV inspection report, dated, from a PUB-registered contractor
Watch out for
- Booking a general plumber instead of a PUB-registered contractor — the inspection may not count if the contractor isn’t registered for the work.
- Assuming the 5-yearly visual inspection (a separate requirement, done by a licensed plumber) satisfies this one, or vice versa. They run on the same 5-year cycle but are distinct checks — completing one does not tick off the other.
- Losing track of the 5-year interval because it’s so infrequent — it’s easy for this to slip past due when the routine 2-weekly cleans are what usually gets attention.
