Set up a registered office address
Every company needs a registered office address in Singapore — the address ACRA holds on public record and where statutory notices and correspondence are sent.
Every company needs a registered office address in Singapore — the address ACRA holds on public record and where statutory notices and correspondence are sent. It must be open to the public for at least 3 hours on each business day, and it cannot be a PO box. It can be your business premises, an approved home-office arrangement, or a registered filing agent's address.
ACRA won't register or maintain your company without a valid registered office, and it's where legal notices are deemed served — miss one because the address wasn't staffed or reachable, and you can't claim you never received it.
Confirms the ≥3 hours/business day rule and what counts as an eligible address.
Who this is for
Every company (and most other registrable business entities) in Singapore.
What you’ll hold
- Proof of address (tenancy agreement or registered-office service agreement)
Watch out for
- Using a PO box or an unstaffed virtual mailbox — it has to be open to the public at least 3 hours on each business day, not just able to receive mail.
- Using a home address without checking it becomes publicly searchable on ACRA's register — use a registered filing agent's address instead if you want privacy.
- Forgetting to update the address with ACRA when you move — correspondence keeps going to the old address until you file the change, it doesn't update automatically.
