Asbestos register re-inspection
A re-inspection of every asbestos-containing (or presumed) material listed in your asbestos register and management plan, checking each one for damage or deterioration and updating the register with the findings.
A re-inspection of every asbestos-containing (or presumed) material listed in your asbestos register and management plan, checking each one for damage or deterioration and updating the register with the findings.
Material that was in good condition at your original survey can be damaged later by building work, water ingress, knocks or simple wear. The law requires you to keep managing the risk, not just to have surveyed it once.
Ask specifically for a UKAS-accredited asbestos surveyor experienced in management re-inspections, not just a general asbestos removal contractor.
Who this is for
Any venue in a pre-2000 building whose asbestos survey identified asbestos-containing or presumed materials.
What you’ll hold
- Updated asbestos register with the re-inspection date and findings
- Photographs of any material showing wear or damage
- Revised management plan if the condition of any material has changed
Watch out for
- Only re-inspecting after someone raises a concern, rather than running it on a fixed annual cycle.
- Forgetting to update the register after refurbishment work exposes or disturbs new areas.
- Treating "presumed asbestos" as lower priority — it needs the same re-inspection discipline until it is proven otherwise.
